The photography lights have come in a large number of formats and designs. These have been in many cases more important for the photographer than the backgrounds and almost as important as the very camera that they use. The lights have been able to set a mood that can't be done with backgrounds alone.
The thing that has been an irony to the photography lights and their importance is that there are still some photographers that have seen these as little more than second hand items that are not vital to many of the photo shoots that they do. This has been a sobering reality that they have value when the photographers wind up losing clients due to the excessive lighting that some places have.
